Database Analyst/Programmer
Customer: National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) is a Department of Defense (DoD) combat support agency and a member of the national Intelligence Community (IC). NGA develops imagery and map-based intelligence solutions for U.S. national defense, homeland security, and safety of navigation. NGA's mission is to provide timely, relevant, and accurate geospatial intelligence in support of national security. The NGA Vision is Know the Earth...Show the Way. Due to NGA's role as the GEOINT functional manager for the DoD and IC, there will be a number of organizations outside of NGA with requirements for FTEs utilizing this contract vehicle.
Position Description: Define, design, implement, and maintains databases and conceptual, logical, and physical data models. Advise customers on issues regarding full life cycle of data from design to production to maintenance, and including conversion, migration, translation, and data quality assurance. Assess customer requirements, evaluate alternatives, and develop recommendations. Responsible for all activities related to the administration of computerized databases. Advises and assists government on establishing and implementing administrative policies and procedures, on technical problems, on priorities, and on methods. Projects long-range requirements for database administration in conjunction with other managers in the information systems function as well as business function managers.
