Systems Engineer/Architect
Customer: National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) is a Department of Defense (DoD) combat support agency and a member of the national Intelligence Community (IC). NGA develops imagery and map-based intelligence solutions for U.S. national defense, homeland security, and safety of navigation. NGA's mission is to provide timely, relevant, and accurate geospatial intelligence in support of national security. The NGA Vision is Know the Earth...Show the Way. Due to NGA's role as the GEOINT functional manager for the DoD and IC, there will be a number of organizations outside of NGA with requirements for FTEs utilizing this contract vehicle.
Position Description: Plans or supports large-scale systems projects through operations, performance, testing, manufacturing, cost and schedule, training and support, and/or system disposal. Ensures the stability, integrity and efficient operation of systems. Applies communication, analytic and problem-solving skills to identify, communicate and resolve issues. Evaluates current systems. Works on complex problems where analysis of situation requires in-depth evaluation of various factors. Plans large-scale systems projects through vendor comparison and cost studies. Conduct open-systems architecture assessments. Assists and advises government with technical design support to system acquisition specification, design, proof-of-concept prototyping, development and evaluation of management information and decision support systems.
